What did Uttoxeter and its people of the past look like?

The early Uttoxeter photographers had very limited equipment compared to today, but nevertheless produced some remarkable images.

This exhibition tries to bring together the many photos taken of Uttoxeter and its people over the last 180 years. It is inspired by modern photographers like John Cooper, Tony Smith, Glynn Roberts and Ernie Davis . It displays their photos alongside those of the McCann family and their contemporaries, who in the 19th and 20th centuries made their living from taking pictures.
