Learning
Redfern’s Cottage provides a variety of learning opportunities designed to be fun and engaging for everyone. We aim to engage visitors with Uttoxeter’s history within a global context through our collections of artifacts and archives.
Education & Schools
We are currently redesigning our education programme for schools, home educated groups and other educational and social groups. Our new programme will be based around National Curriculum guidelines on history for Key Stages 1 and 2, beginning with Uttoxeter’s Anglo- Saxon connections and covering key periods through to the late Victorians.
Each activity will consider Uttoxeter within its world-wide historical setting, allowing pupils to become fully emerged with the museum’s collection and stories. To take part in our Free Pilot Education Sessions then please contact us.
Work Experience
Redfern’s Cottage offer college and university student work experience placements covering museum collection management, heritage building conservation skills and heritage management.
Please contact us for more information and to apply.
